Information as a Discipline: What's the difference?

In celebration of Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2024, ILIAD members, Karen Kaufmann (University of South Florida, USA), Bill Johnston (Scotland), Clarence Maybee (Purdue University, USA), Syeda Shahid (Towson University, USA) and Sheila Webber (University of Sheffield, UK), hosted a webinar on Oct 24 titled, “Information as a Discipline: What's the difference?” The panelists discussed the longer term changes that could happen when information literacy is more widely recognized as a discipline, and noted some of the conditions needed to achieve this. The webinar was co-organized by the CILIP Information Literacy Group, UK, the Institute for Information Literacy at Purdue, USA, and the University of Sheffield Information School, Libraries and Information Society Research Group.
